DECAK!DS - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

a. REGISTRATION AND DEPOSIT

  1. Registration fee of $30 per student is due upon enrolment.

  2. Registration fees are non-refundable.

  3. Deposit: Upon registration, Decadance Co. requires a deposit $100. This deposit will be refunded upon receiving the notice of withdrawal.

b. FEES

  1. Term fees are due before the term commences. A fee of $10 will be charged in the event of late payment.

  2. Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, however we do consider the following exceptional circumstances:

    1. When student sustains an injury that does not permit them to participate for more than 4 weeks. The refund will be used to offset the following term’s fees.

    2. If the studio cancels a class with insufficient registration (full refund).

  3. No replacement class will be given for missed classes due to illness, school trips, holidays or personal commitments.

  4. Should a class be cancelled by the studio, the class would be replaced if the schedule permits, if not, the pro-rated class fee will be refunded in the form of offsetting the next term’s fees.

  5. Proration of Fees: fees will not be prorated for any reason except for the first term of enrolment should the registration be made after the commencement of said term.

c. NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL

  1. Withdrawal: Once enrolled, your child is enrolled on a continuous basis until a withdrawal notice has been logged. A notice period of 2 weeks is required for withdrawal. Only written notice of withdrawal to projects@decadanceco.org will be considered. Informing an instructor or staff of intent to withdraw or not attend classes, does not constitute as a withdrawal.

  2. Should a student wish to re-enrol later on, the registration fees will be applied and deposit will be collected.

  3. Termination: Decadance Co. reserves the right to dismiss a student due to frequent absences, disciplinary reasons, overdue fees or non-compliance with policies and procedures listed here. In such cases, no refunds will be given.

d. INJURY/INSURANCE

  1. Students with an existing injury must notify the company when registering, and attend classes at their own risk.

  2. Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on company property resulting from normal class activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class.

  3. Decadance Co. does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own insurance policies. And if injury occurs, it is understood that the participant’s own policy is their only source of reimbursement.

e. PRODUCTIONS

  1. Performance participation in our productions is open to all and is optional.

  2. There are strictly no refunds for production fees, costumes or tickets once we receive your written confirmation of participation.

  3. Upon confirmation, commitment to classes and rehearsals are required from the student. Should they miss more than 3 classes/rehearsals, the student will be pulled out of the show and fees paid are non-refundable.

f. SCHEDULE & CLASS CHANGES

  1. The company reserves the right to alter the advertised program and/or teacher without prior notice. The information on this page and other printed or electronic brochures/notices is correct at the time of print or posting.

  2. Students wishing to make a class change must first obtain approval from the teacher/director.

g. SUBSTITUTION

  1. The company reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes without prior notice.

h. DISCOUNTS

  1. Siblings Discount - Where two or more immediate family members sign up, a 5% family discount will be applied to the term fees of each child. This discount doesn’t expire and will continue to be applicable as long as the siblings are registered for class.

  2. Referral Discount - Each successful referral entitles you to 10% off ONE term. Your referral must be a new sign up in order for you to receive this discount. Siblings of your referral are not qualified as an additional referral.

  3. Discounts can be stacked in the order of Siblings Discounts followed by Referral Discount.

l. DRESS CODE

  1. All students must be appropriately dressed for class. It is MANDATORY for the safety and the overall well-being of the student’s dance education.

  2. All students must be appropriately groomed for class, with their hair tied back securely.

  3. An instructor reserves the right to dismiss a student from class after one warning. This policy must be respected, it is to benefit students and also to instil a sense of discipline and responsibility.

j. STUDIO RULES

  1. No food or drinks are permitted in the dance studios. With the exception of non-sugary drinking water.

  2. No outside shoes are to be worn in the dance studios.

  3. Class will be conducted with the doors closed.

  4. Students must arrive to class on time and be ready to dance.

  5. Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class.

  6. If a student is unable to dance, but is feeling well enough to attend class, we expect them to participate by observing so that they will retain key elements of class. Students who feel ill, have a fever, or are exhibiting “contagious” cold symptoms should stay home and rest. Cases of prolonged absence due to illness or injury should be discussed with the teacher.

  7. Punctuality: Students and parents must ensure they arrive on time for their lessons. Classes will start on time and end on time, and latecomers may disrupt class flow and concentration.

k. LOBBY RULES

  1. No students are permitted to leave the studio’s premises without an adult, unless permission has been given in writing.

  2. Please try to keep the corridor as quiet and clean as possible.

  3. Classes should not be interrupted while in session.

  4. We are not responsible for unsupervised children.

  5. The company is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

l. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

  1. As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Decadance Co, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or in route to or from any of said premises.

  2. I understand that appropriate physical contact is required during the instruction of dance, and I give permission for instructors to make appropriate physical contact with me or my child for such instruction.

m. MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

  1. As the legal parent or guardian, I give permission to Decadance Co, its owners and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian.

  2. I hereby declare that I have informed the company in writing of any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or conditions and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health.

n. DATA PROTECTION

  1. Decadance Co holds information about our customers to enable us to carry out our business. The information includes the contact details supplied to us and may also include information on examiners, courses and students’ records.

  2. The company will not disclose your information to third parties except where the law allows or requires, or where you have given your permission to do so.

o. PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE AND AGREEMENT

  1. It is understood that Decadance Co reserves the right to use any photography and/or videography of students' performances for purposes of advertising and promoting the studio.

  2. I give permission for Decadance Co to take photos and videos of me or my child while participating in Decak!ds dance classes and activities for promotional purposes.

  3. All ownership (including copyright) as well as all other rights, title and interest in and to the photography and videography shall belong exclusively to Decadance Co Limited.

p. CHANGES TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The company reserves the right to change and modify these terms and conditions.

q. AGREEMENT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Upon successful registration, parents/guardians of students attending classes are taken to have accepted the Terms and Conditions.
