PROGRAMME
WELCOME2DECA
Fun Fact: After roughly 15 years in the dance industry, this is the very first full length I’ve mustered the courage to start, complete and present. Or at least the first one I’m credited for. IYKYK. This project also stood the test of time as Shirley and I have been eager to collaborate on a project, ANY project for that matter, since 2011 and I couldn’t be any happier that we’ve finally celebrated our friendship through this performance. As DECA. celebrates our 4th year, we are truly humbled by the support of our community around us who continue to inspire us in developing our artistic language, voice and colour. With you, we know this path will be long, exciting and meaningful.
Keep dancing,
Edwin
SYNOPSIS
NUNO (布) is a contemporary and aerial dance production that exploits the convergent possibilities and divergent tensions between contemporary and aerial dance. Five dancers move between the ground and the air, exploring the dynamics between body to body, body to silk and body to space. Between the tensile pull of muscle and silk, NUNO seeks to ask - what new movement possibilities can occur?
